THE ACCESSIBLE TOURISM COMMISSION GATHERED IN ALANYA

The Accessible Tourism Commission formed within the context of the “Application and Co-Operation Protocol for an Accessible Tourism City Alanya” performed their 5th meeting. The following have joined to the meeting held at the Alanya Municipality Accessible Parks and Life Center; Tunahan Kasapoğlu – Alanya Municipality Vice-Mayor and Adem Er – Alanya Municipality Vice-Mayor, Fevzi Pamukçuoğlu – Vice General Director of the Investments and Establishments representing the Turkish Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism, İrfan Akıncı – Head Controller from the Controllers Board and ALTID and ALTSO commission representatives who have been appointed by the Accessible Tourism Protocol partners. Munir Altıoğlu who is the Accessible Tourism Commission Secretary and the Coordinator for Social Services gave a presentation about the works finished and progressing related with this Accessible Tourism Project. At the meeting, it has been decided to take effective steps to make the Marine Tourism and Historical sites accessible for handicapped people and to make some efforts to make the airport transportation vehicles also accessible.

CONSENSUS TO EXTEND THE PROTOCOL INDEFINITELY
Vice-mayor of Alanya, Tunahan Kasapoğlu said that as Alanya, the efforts for Accessible Tourism is increasing. Kasapoğlu who emphasized that the smaller districts of Alanya Municipality must be included in this project said that in this context more time and additional plans are needed and that they are in favor to extend the Accessible Tourism Protocol, which will finish at 2014 December. The representatives of the Accessible Tourism Protocol partners because of their evaluations decided to update the protocol and extend it indefinitely.

OUR CO-OPERATION MUST INCREASINGLY CONTINUE
During his evaluation of the meeting, Fevzi Pamukçuoğlu – Vice General Director of the Investments and Establishments of the Turkish Republic Ministry of Culture and Tourism said that there is a high success rate with the efforts in Alanya Center. Pamukçuoğlu emphasized that both the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and other protocol partners must work with an increasing cooperation to improve the accessibility of the whole region after smaller districts joined became also a part of the process and to the efforts to improve the infrastructure aiming the accessible tourism.
