AN ACCESSIBLE HOLIDAY RESORT WILL BE BUILT IN ALANYA

Alanya Mayor Hasan Sipahioğlu has provided the City Council with information on topics discussed in the Second International Disability Conference held in Cieszyn in Poland and the resort of people with disabilities intended to be built in Alanya. 

Upon the invitation from the Central Europe Union for People with Disabilities (CEE GROUP AND TRİANON), District Governor Hulusi Doğan and Mayor Hasan Sipahioğlu has attended the Second International Disability Conference in Cieszyn of Poland on June 25th, 2009.
 
Presidents and vice presidents of physical and mental disabled federations and members of disabled councils from Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden and other European countries as well as a parliamentarian, who is the representative of the disabled commission of the Poland Parliament, and mayors of various cities in Poland have attended the conference.

Opinions and suggestions related to joint organizations to ensure integration of people with disabilities living in Europe and where and how to build a rehabilitation and holiday complex enabling people with disabilities to have treatment and holiday has been discussed in the meeting. During the meeting that lasted for a day, a joint decision has been made for ensuring Integration of People with Disabilities and for building a holiday and rehabilitation complex in Alanya from which people with disabilities from Europe and Turkey can benefit. Accordingly, a common agreement of intent has been signed by the officials of the five countries for cooperation on building and developing tourism (health tourism for people with disabilities in particular) and rehabilitation complexes. The letter of intent has been signed by Mayor Hasan Sipahioğlu.

A period of about three weeks will be held on for the implementation of the decisions made as a result of this agreement by making use of European Union funds, where further necessary actions will be determined at the end of this period.
